We are SO proud of the masterpiece we created at play! We worked together to write lots of our friends names and make a beautiful picture to showcase it all! We are still thinking of a name for it:)

Guided Reading This week in Guided Reading we read Cat's Colors. We learned the rules of the Reading Community, as well as, how to work with a reading partner. After we read the book two days in a row, we did a reading extension where we read color words on our own and practiced writing them! We also colored the word using crayons and markers. We had a blast! This week we read If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff. We have practiced retelling the story, sequencing the events, coloring our own mini book and making the main character! Our mice look great! Today we integrated our reading lesson into our math time! The children chose their favorite cookie and we put them on the graph one by one. As we counted and discussed our results, we found that our class mostly likes sugar cookies! We completed our first class graph today and it was a major success! Henry! We loved seeing your pictures and hearing all about your favorites. We love pizza like you do! You're such a fun friend. Thanks for being YOU!:) Today we accomplished our first Thinking Routine! It's called See, Think, Wonder. The children were asked to look at a picture of a tree (what our first science unit is about) and tell me what they see, what they think is going on, and what does it make them wonder. This routine is done to emphasize the importance of observation. Key thinking moves in this routine include: describing, interpreting and wondering. Today we started the day off just right! Each morning we will learn one new position from our ABC's Yoga Chart. This will help us to strengthen and energize our bodies. Today we learned A is for Airplane. This our Airplane pose.:) Today we got to choose our own classroom job! We are each responsible for helping out in the classroom in our own special way:) Today we made chicka hats with numbers and apples all over! They match the tree in the book Chicka, Chicka, 1, 2, 3. Then we went on a parade around the school! We had so much fun!
Danielle, Nash and Henry at the computers on Starfall. They are listening to stories, playing literacy games and being independent learners. :)
